Shrek

I watched a second movie from my movie list last night- Shrek! I love this movie, I could definitely watch it over and over. I still laughed at most of the jokes and it definitely could be one of the only (current) Eddie Murphy movies that I would be willing to watch more than once.

Mike Meyer's accent in this movie makes me want to watch Austin Powers, yeah baby! Happy Tuesday!

The official kick off of my 30 Under 30 list… Beauty and the Beast in 3D.

This past Monday officially kicked of the start of my 30 Under 30 list.

I wish I could say I had visited a city or took a dance class, but no I went and saw Beauty and the Beast 3D. Where does this fit in my list? Well part of my list is to watch the AFI’s 10 Top 10 movie list. Beauty and the Beast is one of the top 10 animated movies. (http://www.afi.com/10top10/)

I loved the movie, but I’ve always loved it, so seeing it in 3D was like a bonus. I couldn’t believe all of the words to the songs I still remembered!! I even found myself quoting some lines- and I think it may have been a good 10+ years since I last watched it. I made a note to myself that I think Beauty and the Beast is one of the last Disney/Animated movies to have come out that didn’t have any “famous” voices in it (I could be wrong though- I mean once you move on to Lion King and Aladdin you have Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams stepping in).

So, now that I have mentioned the movie we’ve all seen about 100 times it’s time for some Danielle trivia!!!

Q: Danielle, in how many different formats have you seen Beauty and the Beast?

A: Hmmm, good question- let me think about that. Well, I first saw the movie, and then I saw Beauty and the Beast on Ice (yes, on ICE!!). I have also seen the Broadway musical a few times and I did NOT like it. I have seen it on a few stages, all the way from community theater to professional in England and I still do not like this musical. And now finally, I have seen it in 3D.Which is my favorite, because I know that's what you are thinking? I would have to say Beauty and the Beast on Ice. I mean how often do you get to see someone dressed as a candle fall over and have a clock and a feather duster try to get him up- even as a kid I knew that was funny!!!

As long as we are talking about the movies- I have a disclaimer I need to throw out there. After looking over the movie list I think this will be the only task that I allow previous viewings to count. I saw the Lion King in 3D in October, so I will be counting that and I hate to say it but I don’t think I can watch Fantasia again… I turned it off as a 10 year old and I think I will do the same at 27.

Happy Weekend!!

A Welcome Back and My 30 Under 30

Let me start by saying, please, please, please ignore the date of the previous entry. Like many projects in life- the "blogging my way through Norway" project started with a promise and became stalled when Wi-Fi became harder and more expensive to find. Sadly, the project was ultimately abandoned when I was forced to return to the USA and had to start using my computer to look for a "real job".

Anyways, the show must go on.

So, it's time to share and start my 30 Under 30 list. What is a 30 Under 30 list? Well, it's 30 things I'd like to do by the time I'm 30. I got the inspiration to do this from a blog that I came across one day when I searching for ideas to make my house "Mad Men" themed. In this other list the woman had a year to complete her list and although she didn't complete everything, it was still really cool to see what she did accomplish.

My list will be a little different, I have three years to complete this list and I can't count anything I have done before turning 27. (Although, I'm torn on whether or not to include movies I've seen previously on the AFI's 10 Top 10 list.) To make the list easier to create, I picked 5 school subjects and tried to fit my choices within those categories. I picked Geography, Health/PE, Art, Music, Home Ec, and Drama (that last one was a streatch, but Math didn't seem as fun). Apparently I really loved Geography and Phys Ed... Go figure!?
